AdSense Alternative: AuctionAds

AuctionAds is basically an extension of the AdSense concept, except that it operates by offering products from eBay auctions.

So, you sign up for free account, and create ads that pretty much follow the AdSense format in the size and style of ad units that are available.

Except, when you choose the keyword or phrase for your ads, the program searches for ads on eBay that relate to that key term, and then inserts them into your ad unit.

Every time the ad unit is shown (you can use it on as many site pages as you want) it is ads from eBay that are shown.

Here’s how a typical auction ads 728×90 ad unit might look:

Auction Ads

The first thing to note is that these ads carry images.

This can make a significant difference to the number of clicks that the individual ads are likely to attract.

Otherwise, the code that needs ‘copy and pasting’ on to your page is created pretty much the same way as that of AdSense, and you can change text and border colors in exactly the same way too.

AuctionAds are still a relative newcomer to the market, but they have certainly done well enough so far, although it would only be fair to mention that they have suffered some minor difficulties from time to time as well.

They state on their website that you can use AuctionAds on the same pages as AdSense too.

They also confirm that they aim to pay out at least as much as eBay do in affiliate commissions, and that you get paid for every click on an AuctionAds listing, as well as every ‘action’ that is taken, defined as a Winning Bid, a Buy-it-Now or a confirmed user registration.

AuctionAds is definitely an AdSense Alternative that you should consider using, simply because its association with eBay seems to give it a certain ‘kudos’ that so far appears to make it very effective.
