Why Website Publishers Loved AdSense Too!

So, the advantages to an advertiser of Google’s AdSense advertising program are obvious, and that situation has not really changed a great deal from the launch in 2003 up until this day.

That is, AdSense allowed adverts to be presented only to people that Google already knew would be interested in the product or service being advertised.

Back then, this also represented a fantastic opportunity for individual site owners too and, again, this is still true to this day.

When the AdSense program was originally launched in 2003, it was open only to webmasters with their own domain names.

Many quickly took up the opportunity to cash in on the websites that the majority already owned and operated anyway.

Later, the program was extended to allow people using free websites to include AdSense as well.

Then, over the past couple of years, the explosion of blog sites has led to a similar explosion in the usage of AdSense on blogs too.

Thus, the situation now is that, regardless of how small a site is, as long as it presents valuable business related content to its readers, it is likely to be accepted by the AdSense program.

So, if you are the website or blog publisher in question, all you need to do is grab a small piece of code from the AdSense website which you then need to paste onto your webpage.
This enables the ads to be shown on that page, and every time a visitor to your site clicks one of these ads, you make money.

As a general rule, the better the quality of the content on the page, the better will be the targeting of the ads that appear there, and these should therefore draw more clicks and make more money for you.

Plus, the AdSense program tends to allocate the more expensive adverts to the best targeted sites so, by creating higher quality content, it is possible to increase your AdSense earnings in two ways.

And, there’s one thing about AdSense that, without any shadow of a doubt at all, is one of the main reasons for its huge popularity with publishers like you.

That is, AdSense generates a passive income; of exactly the sort that experts (like Robert Kiyosaki in his world famous book ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’) will tell you that you must generate to stand any chance of becoming really wealthy.

Passive income is basically an income that comes to you without your actually having to work for it, and is the best kind of income to have.

Now, of course this does no mean that you get an income without doing anything at all for it. In the case of AdSense, for example, you must first open your free account and then get Google to approve it.

Then, you need to copy and paste the code into (as many pages as you want on) your site or blog. Next, you must do everything that you can to make people visit the site, so that they see the adverts and hopefully click on them.

But the point is that once AdSense is set up, that is pretty much it.

Now, there are rules about what you can and cannot do with AdSense ads. You cannot just do anything you like.

The AdSense Terms of Service specifically forbid you from doing anything that could be construed as ‘inviting’ or actively encouraging someone to Click on the adverts on your site, nor are you allowed to click on them yourself (and be assured that, if you do try, you will be found out, no matter how smart you might think you are!)

But, basically, once it is set up, AdSense needs little attention or care of any kind.

Think of it like owning several houses or apartments and renting or leasing them out.
Sure, you have to look after the buildings, making certain that the utilities work properly and so on, but, basically, once your tenants are in and happy, that’s the work finished as far as you are concerned.

You just turn up once a month and collect the check for doing next to nothing.

That is passive income and that is exactly what AdSense gives you – it is (in theory at least) a great source of set it and (essentially) forget it income!
